Hi Peggy,

I recently ran into a similar renumbering bug when creating new styles
for a template. Hans, the "Lounge" forum guru at www.wopr.com, was able
to fix me up in no time at all. Simply visit that site and click the
[Lounge] item in the header bar, then scroll sown to the Word section.

The Lounge, BTW, is an indispensable site for those of us slogging
around in Word.

Subject: WORD 03 document starting with Section Heading

Typical tech document in many ways, except, because the System Design
Document was sooo large, it has now been broken into 6 separate WORD
documents.
Part 5 starts in the middle of section 7, meaning, it starts with
section Heading 7.2.9. I'm having difficulty getting the *caption
numbering to work*. It starts out OK for section 7.2.9, but when it
gets to 7.2.10 is wants to start renumbering.
In the past I've always just used HEADING 1 for the caption numbering
and just numbered all the figures consecutively from each new Heading 1.

But, this is not working here because there is no section 1 heading at
the document start.
Not sure how to fix this/handle this. Help appreciated.
