Kirk,
Both are used; it's primarily personal preference. Since you don't have
a company style guide, create a personal style guide and note which one
you prefer. If you keep consistent with your own style guide, whichever
you choose will become the "right" way.

Subject: Bulleted list Format?
I know that this isn't a great question, but please give me some
guidance. I
see two different methods for formatting bullets. From the APA style,
the
bulleted list is placed flush left with the left-side margin of the
introductory/stem paragraph/sentence. In other documents, I have seen
the
bulleted list indented from the left-side margin of the
introductory/stem
paragraph/sentence. I have no corporate style guide from which to work.
Which of these methods is the accepted usage? I've seen both widely
used.
I think that I know the standard usage of different formatting
elements, but
then I research and find that formatting isn't as standardized as I
first
thought.
Thanks for your consideration,
Kirk
