Mr. Johnson came back later and added that he considered testers and "other
IT" people to be included under "developers" for the purposes of his query.

This gave me pause.

Um... in the strict sense, I'm an IT worker. I deal in "Information
Technology".

But really, the only time I ever tag myself as "IT" is on government and
other surveys with wierd category divisions... not in "real life". Anybody
who works in software and hardware development considers "IT" to be that
department that administers the computer and network stuff that lets us do
our jobs. Infrastructure. So, developers would not normally lump themselves
in with "IT" (except on those government forms).
