If you do purchase, you need to make sure it's an unrestricted license.
Many student discounts are for the educational version, which is not
supposed to be used for commercial purposes. Just so you know...

Acrobat is definitely worth having all by itself. Photoshop and
Illustrator are nice to have, but you can get cheaper alternatives in
the short run. FrameMaker may be worth having. The only other thing I'd
recommend is Dreamweaver for HTML.

You might want to work with colleagues to share their Photoshop and
Illustrator when you need to use it.
