A straphanger is someone who is just along for the ride and doesn't contribute anything to the meeting, project, or whatever.

BTW, that was an actual quote from a meeting I attended and uses all of my least favorite words. It is also my second most "mind-boggling" line of strung-together cliches. The first is from a Lt Col who described a situation as a "sucking chest wound that is going to cause quite a food fight." EEEEWWW!

Another word to add to the list: veggies. They are VEGETABLES. Beets don't taste any better when they are "veggies."

What is a "straphanger"?

And is "impactful" even a real word?! Just teasing. It is a word according to Merriam and Websters. It just sounds horrible.
