?!?

I've always known that as zeroing "1 : to determine or adjust the zero of
(as a rifle)"
http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=zeroing&x=11&y=12

But is really just adjusting "1 a : to bring to a more satisfactory state:
or calibrating: "4 : to adjust precisely for a particular function"
http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/calibrating

With three perfectly good verbs, who needs yet another?
