On all the people talking about distances and recruiters caling... it depends on what your options are. I know plenty of contractors with aging tech skills that have to go further from home to find work. How much you make and where you make it depends largely on your options and what you have in the bank.

Some recruiters are clueless, but it is like any other job... there's a learning curve.
