Sorry, but SCSI *is* an initialism as well as an acronym. It stands
for Small Computer System Interface.

Its originators intended that it should be pronounced "sexy", but
the public immediately adopted the pronunciation "scuzzy". I've
never heard anybody pronounce it with an "a" vowel sound (or
at least nobody among native English speakers).

RADAR - initialism, and acronym

USA, EU - initialisms, not acronyms

SCSI (pronounced 'scasi/scazy'): not initialism,
acronym

ODI (one-day international: a game of cricket
played out in one day, as opposed to 5 or 6):
this was initially o-d-i (initialism),
increasingly now it is pronounced 'odie'

>> Moral: all initialisms are potential acronyms.

EU can become 'you' and USA, oozer

===

Initialism _is_ a pedantic distinction.
