Points of fact:

The Internet has been around (as we know it) since 1983, and some would say it was born around 1970 (but I admit that's debatable!).

Email has been around in some form or other since the 1960s, and Internet email since 1982 (at least, that's when RFC 822, which defines how Internet email works, was released by the IETF).

Best wishes,
Sandy
