Are you writing requirements? If so, there are several good books on
discerning and writing requirements (as distinct from design). Among
them:

Practical Software Requirements: A Manual of Content and Style
(Paperback), by Benjamin Kovitz.

Contrary to popular belief, common sense will take you fairly far in
writing requirements. The problems come in being complete, and in
making sure your requirements actually match user needs as opposed to
some ideal.

Good luck.
