I agree. Boss says jump, you really ought to try to get your feet off
the ground at the same time. One thing that I used to do with a
particularly demanding manager was ask for some clarification. It
can't hurt to ask if your boss has any particular arrangement in mind.
It covers your butt while letting your boss know that you are
sincerely interested in complying with her whims. But make sure you do
it sincerely. Anything else could come across as mocking, being
condescending, or trying to get out of work. I don't think those are
three good qualities to have come Performance Review time.
