Hey Eric, I found something we agree on :-)

In Docbook we also modularize. Not as much as DITA, but the practice exists.
Then again, structured environments do lend themselves nicely to
modularization.

Personally I am not to fanatic about how it gets done. I gave up trying to fix
it in a box, every time I think I have it nailed it turns out to be different
depending on circumstances.
