If you're working in XML using an XML DTD known to the Epic editor, then
Epic (PTC/Arbortext) can be used for conditional processing. Epic
currently implements both DITA and DocBook DTDs. For an XML DTD, the
access to conditional processing comes from the use of 'global'
attributes'; that is, attributes that are defined/declared for every
element in the DTD.

hope this helps.

Conditional text processing

Does anyone know of a text-processing application
(besides FrameMaker) that supports conditional
processing to permit client-specific versions from a
single source? Preferably XML-based, but supporting
printed as well as web-based output.

TIA
