In all the discussion of this topic, I haven't seen anyone mention
playing with your mouse settings (my apologies if I just missed it).

If you have a Microsoft mouse, you should have the Intellipoint software
installed (I'm sure Logitech has a similar application). Look for
something like "Microsoft Mouse" in your program menu, or go to Control
Panel > Mouse.

In my version of Intellipoint (4.10), the settings that might help are
pointer speed, double-click speed, orientation (are you holding your
hand at a different angle?), and "enhanced pointer precision." IIRC, I
used to have a version with even more adjustments -- but scrolling in FM
didn't work. :-(

Anyway, some experimenting with whatever adjustments you have available
might help.
