All,

I rebooted and the Cut And Paste is back to normal on all levels,
including Edit, keyboard, and so on. I can only assume I hit some
obscure keystroke combination that disabled the function.

I'll never cease to be amazed at how astonishingly fragile Word is and
how a single random finger jump can bollix your whole day. ;)

Thanks for the tips!

Martin

A fellow in my office said he had this happen once before. He can't recall
the specifics, which I know is what you need right now, but he inadvertantly
hit some key combination that disabled this function in Windows. Perhaps
this will at least give you a hint toward figuring out a solution.
