I assume you are inserting the graphics using intermediate entity (the
standard way of doing this, especially in Epic). The path to the graphics is
stored in in the entity declaration.
The path can be relative or not and usually is the source of the problem.

If you're not intimate with your DTD and editing XML by hand, go to Entities
menu and Select Graphic. You can edit the pathanames there.
(If the entities menu is not displayed, go to Tools, Preferences first and
select the option "Full Menus")

If the above is not good enough, you would have to provide at least partial
DTD, "good" XML sample and "bad" XML sample, so that I know whether you use
ObjectLocator attribute to reference entities or some other technique.

Is the help id an attribute embedded in every tag?
By DTD (pre defined template) do you mean the one that shipped with Epic or
do you have own?

On the other hand Documentum seems to be the source of the troubles, I've
never used it though.

The current version of Epic is 5.2 - it had a lot of bugs fixed, perhaps
this is the way to go.
What's more ptc.com has a big Knowledge Base for Epic Editor problems and
good support as well, I highly recommend going there as well.

Hope this helps,

Lech

Hi All

I am encountering a strange error while inserting graphics in a Epic (Epic
Arbortext 4.1.3 version) document.

Our document is based on a DTD (pre defined template) wherein we are able
to
insert graphics (picture).

But if a document is uploaded to Documentum and checked out from there it
does not allow to insert picture. An help id is auto generated, our doubt
is
whether is it due to auto generation of help id the insertion is
prevented.

Because the document does not display the tag used for inserting picture.

Kindly can any one let us know how the problem can be addressed.
