I may be reading too much into it, but based on the original post it
sounded as if Anthony was asking for advice on how best to work
with the guy. He hadn't mentioned the possiblity that it might turn
out to be futile (I did that).

but I'd simply suggest avoiding the chip-wearing thing altogether.
It's energy-draining and not the most conducive thing to workplace
harmony.
