I too would be amazed to hear of any TW wearing only one hat.

After "officially" joining the profession, I have variously been:

- programmer
- database programmer
- software QA (SEI auditor)
- trainer
- logistics engineer
- web developer
- translator
- field service engineer
- multimedia developer
- user interface designer
- standards expert
- network systems manager
- CALS expert
- TeX expert/administrator
- SGML consultant
- HyTime expert
- application support
- XML expert
- FrameMaker developer
- content management expert

In my current job:

- online help developer
- embedded help developer
- user assistance developer
- wiki developer/manager/owner/author
- localization manager
- usability consultant/auditor
- translator
- editor

... oh, and I write too.

Simon North.
