I remember a similar bit of advice from my early days as
an engineer. If given a plant tour, take advantage of any
opportunity that arose to use a restroom located outside
of the front offices and in the manufacturing areas. How
a company maintained those facilites would tell you a lot
about how they treated employees when nobody was
looking.
