You seem to be right on target regarding interviewing best practices also,
Dori. Last night, as I said my prayers to the patron saint of typing, I
concluded that this phone etiquette rule should be included in all of the
other best practice rules. Like Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny, I learned
something (thank you notes after an interview). So my best practices for
interviewing - and some of these are male specific - are as follows:

*Wear a suit and tie regardless of what I'm told about the dress culture.
*Show up at least 10 minutes early.
*Bring at least three copies of my resume.
*Bring samples of my work.
*Know the position, so that I can explain why I am interested and what value
I can add.
*Review my abilities, strengths, and skills, and know my resume well.
*Be prepared to ask as well as answer questions.
*Be able to identify one or two of my weaknesses, but make sure I choose
those which could be perceived in a positive light.
*At the conclusion, state my wish to become part of the department. Express
my interest in continuing to the next stage in the interview process.
*Send a follow-up letter of appreciation for the time and the interview.
