width: [measurement in pixels, percentage or em];

And the measurement type you pick will determine if your layout is fluid or not.

- pixels: not fluid
- percentage or em: fluid

"Fluid" means that the div's width is determined by the size of the
browser window. "Fixed" means that the div's width stays the same, no
matter what size the browser window is.
