Was I whining out loud? Whoops, sorry!

What's worse than your boss sending an email in the morning to
*schedule* an afternoon flogging?

Having him *postpone* the flogging. Grr.

Then he had the effrontery to actually be nice. I can handle a lot of
criticism (not gracefully, but I can handle it), but -niceness-
totally disarms me. I came *this close* to weeping.

Fortunately he wasn't *very* nice - just a little. :) It must be tough
being the president of a Very Small Business, 'cause you have to be
BOTH Bad Cop and Good Cop at the same time!
