I agree providing it's digital video. Streaming through a long tape sort of
tosses convenience out the window; however, you can search digital video
files, flash files, etc., for keywords and other content.

"Technology is also coming along in that arena...not an excuse to
the future, eh? I personally choose to look forward, not abandon my past
experience and skillset, while developing new skills for the future. I plan
on being around (and marketable) for a long time."

I don't think anyone has said that we should turn a blind eye to new
technology. Actually, we are endorsing new technology providing it is used
to enhance the viewers comprehension of the material and not just 'cause
it's new and flashy, and has all those whiz-bang thingies. Regardless of the
technology, if you want to incorporate video, or multimedia in your
documentation efforts, you will still have to plan for it. Unless, of
course, you have an unlimited budget and no deadlines to worry about, or if
you have no concern over the quality of your output. If that is the case,
then jump on the bandwagon.
