Al Geist reminisces about XYWrite -- and I share his fond nostalgia. What a great wordprocessor that was!

When the mouse came along, I resented it. Why should I take my hands off the keyboard when I can zip along, usually to a catchy rhythm, with my key combinations?

And what are all those stupid pictures (icons) for. Never needed them before.

And, I could back up my XYWrite program on one, single, low-density 5.25-inch floppy disk.

Who mentioned learning to type on a typewriter that didn't have a number 1? But of course.

Back then, I didn't need glasses. Back then, I wore a size 8. Then again, back then, I didn't know nothin'.
