In most product development, the business requirements define
why you want to develop a product, what features the product
will need to support that goal and what the responsibilities of
your various contributors are. It could be described as the
"mission statement" for the product. Getting down to the
"nitty-gritty" of how the product will implement each of
the features defined in the business requirements is part
of the functional requirements/product specifications.
