I'm coming in on this a little late, because I'm behind in reading the
digests, so I hope the subject is still viable. Regarding the "problem
co-worker" that Abbie was talking about the other day, I have to confess
I don't like the idea of deliberately refusing to respond to her,
because I've had people do that to me and it always leaves me feeling
that I got cheated. Our whole profession has to do with understanding
the audience and thus understanding what sort of argument will persuade
them. So in this case, might it not be possible to figure out, based on
what you know about this person, what sort of argument would convince
her to change her ways?
