I'll second the recommendation for EditPad. I started using it maybe 7
or 8 years ago, back when it was "postcardware" -- to comply with the
terms of the license, you had to send Jan Goyvaerts a "pretty picture
postcard" for his collection.

But please note that it's not postcardware anymore, and the Lite version
is free only for personal, non-commercial use. If you're going to use it
at work, buy the Pro version.
