Most RFPs will specify the format for the response, so using a canned
template is a Really Bad Idea in that case; you want to give the prospective
customer exactly the response format they are asking for.
If no response format is specified, as a simple, general outline I would
suggest (for a technical proposal)
- Executive Summary
- Solution Overview
- Business Case
- Value Proposition
- Technical Overview (include summary of major deliverables and
high-level project timeline here)
- Detailed presentation of proposed solution
- Pricing and Terms
- Appendices (to include things like project team resumes, methods and
processes, etc.)
