Hi listers,
I have used Word's Master and Sub documents successfully, but I do not
recommend them because there are traps for the unwary. You have to be
VERY disciplined when you use them.
I have used Word for large publications by linking chapters of a book
using Word's RD fields. That works really well. You have a document that
contains title and front pages like a master TOC, then link to the other
files in turn. The TOC and Index are built from all the linked files.
It has been a few years since I last did this but I would be surprised
if RD fields have changed since then.
cheers
Kath
