Flat screen recommendation (PC) for high res graphics

Can anywone recommend a relatively affordable screen for high resolution
graphics? What factors should be kept in mind? I am currently working on a
PC and using a CRT screen. I have some reservations about moving to a flat
screen who is just about to die on me.
