Basically, my boss is not a technical writer and does not quite
understand about what we do.
Whenever we get a document for editing that goes through her (rather
than technical writing projects), she expects us to whip them off in a
few hours; that is really why I was verifying that my feeling that I
should be spending at least 10 hours on this, was justified.
The document was sent to me by the SME, and the author was the R&D guy.
You are in fact quite right about the "presence" in this particular
document, but I am managing to work around that.
