Our app is db-centered too. I don't know how else you could describe a
saved sort. Maybe "configuration"? We can't use "view", as Views are a
UI object for us. The only things we save in a similar fashion are
export settings, which we dub, unimaginatively, "export settings".

Sorts, in our app, are "sticky", which is another fun concept to
explain.

Thank you for your help, though it's not quite the right word, I think.

A query is when you search and filter the results by criteria. A sort is
when you put all the data in a specific order and save the order, though
not
the data.

It may be called query in database terms, but if I use that here, I'm
going
to have confused users, since query to them means to ask and get a more
specific answer.
