In my first post on this subject, I mentioned that I did just finish the
requirements to take the PMP exam. The requirements include project hours.
I have kept track of my hours since 1995 for eventual qualification to take
the exam. PMI instituted an online hours tracking system several years ago
that makes it easier to keep track of hours. In 2005, I think, they changed
the system so that only members could use the hours tracking, but I had an
old (grand-fathered) account that let me use the system, so I still kept
track of my hours. I don't know what it takes to set-up an account now.
Over the years I have backed-out of completing the exam application because
I don't want to be a project manager, but this time I went ahead and
submitted my application and it was approved.

I'm a contractor and I work alone. All of my jobs are projects and I'm
expected to lead the efforts of these projects. So project hours are easy
for me to come by.
