Lauren...what confirmed that to me was when his only justification that something was the way he claimed was that a consulting group (Yourdon) made the claim in a seminar he attended.
While I know of Ed Yourdon and don't question his credability, I question the experience of any technical writer who parrots a claim second hand as proof of something he should be living every day.
