The PDF I dealt with was not locked, but it was still uncooperative.

I resorted to a feature called "OCR Text Recognition," which allowed me
to proceed, but the going was kind of brutal.

The text I managed to extract was garbled. If I sent that along, the
recipients would have said, What the heck is this?

Therefore, I formatted the whole thing by hand, which I didn't want to
do. I spent the better part of a day on this "small" task.

I can see more tasks coming down the pike where people want data
extracted from PDFs.

I believe I need to learn more about this. Hints, tips, suggestions
would be appreciated.
