RoboHelp was *thought to be* dead until Adobe bought Macromedia.
Through the powers of necromancy and other dark arts, they resurrected
it. RoboHelp is now alive and well again, and will certainly eat your
brains for the right price.

As far as the "de-facto standard", I honestly don't think it ever was.
That was Blue Sky's/eHelp's war cry, not the market's. There are tons
of very viable Help Authoring Tools (HATs) out there that do a darn
tootin' good job of creating Help. Check out Char James-Tanny's site
hat-matrix.com for cross-comparison info.
