Thank you.  Your response finally made sense to me.  For the past
seven years I've primarily written user assistance, so I haven't
always followed your arguments for data-flow diagrams.  I'm envious
that you seem to have the luxury of time to do such a complete
analysis.  I already do some of what you're talking about, but not to
the extent that you do.  And without the fancy names.  ;-)

This list is a fantastic resource for me.  More than once in the past
couple of months I've managed to look like a hero at work, due to some
snipped I've gleaned from y'all.   We all have very different
audiences, contracts/jobs, customers, and deliverables.  It's
interesting to read what different people are doing, what issues
they're running up against, and how they're solving real life
problems. I  need as many tools as possible in my toolbox, especially
now that I'm a sole writer.
