Rob:

What or who is behind this venture? Has this been suggested to you by one of
your colleagues? I think this might be a worthwhile effort if you can create
a business case for it. This business case would include, but not be limited
to, tech writers and tech writing departments clamoring for a mind map to
develop their own style guide. I define something coming out of academia as
worthwhile if it will be snatched up by the business world and put to good
use. Me? I love style guides. A "mind map" to develop a style guide sounds
like fun, but I don't know if it is really worthwhile.

Hi all,

I'd like to post a tentative mind map that describes the issues and
"checkpoints" one might consider when developing a style guide.

I plan to pull from many sources and come up with a comprehensive map
from which a documenter could glean a complete style guide.

Is this a worthwhile effort, do you think?
