My preference for using rectangles is that I don't want a bunch of
different shapes on one screen capture. The screen captures have many
different elements: drop down fields, option buttons, buttons, text
entry fields, network icons, and so on. I want to present the
information consistently, as I feel that's really important from a
usability point of view, so one shape is all I want to include.
For numbered labels, I do use circles, though, because they do stand
out, and if that is the only notation, it's clean and straightforward.
Thanks for your comments :-)
