Nothing was pictured that looked like the item I described.
Do you mean the equivalent of the sender for a garage door, the part
with the push-button, that would live in a vehicle or on the saddle of a
horse?

Hmm. There IS a horse-riding tack shop half a mile up the street from
the location, and horse-boarding farm and riding school a couple of
miles further along my walking route... hmm. I'd kill for a picture
right now. :-)
