Googling "excel file associations" gets quite a few hits going back
several years. Two suggestions are available at (Microsoft Community site...first suggestion
is to clear "ignore other applications" check box in Excel. Second
suggestion is to reset the registry to the defaults (using Start >
Run).) Click the link for more information.
