Subject:W-2 vs 1099 From:R D <jaguarjam -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com Date:Wed, 20 Feb 2008 07:47:55 -0800 (PST)
I just negotiated an hourly rate on W-2. The recruiter
just called to notify me that the rate would be on a
1099. As far as I know, I would have to pay an
additional 7.5% for SS taxes plus they get out of
paying unemployment tax of 10 to 15%. Is there
anything else I need to be aware of?
