You're not alone in your lone-writer-ness. ;) I've found even when I was in some kind of documentation group, I still pretty much ran my own show. And I'm not complaining either!
I do wonder, though, what techniques might permit a soloist to function more like an orchestra--without all the cacophony!

Aww, an actual doc group...that must be nice! I am the doc group...so I guess in
my case, it looks like the chick in the mirror!
