Perhaps I should clarify. Document numbering as in the number for the
DOCUMENTATION. For example, Document Number - XYZ 123

As for document numbering that matches the software, I don't think
that's possible as the lineage of software can go move anywhere in 3
decimal places (ie. X.X.X).

Do you mean including a version number in the document that matches the
