Hi all,
I barely even lurk anymore due to time constraints, so apologies in
advance for popping up out of the blue and asking for help. :)
Has anyone had good results in converting a 200+ page FrameMaker book or
PDF to Word? If so, what tool(s) did you use?
A little background:
I sometimes get requests to provide a Word version of a document I
maintain in FrameMaker. The document I'm being asked for right now is
about 200 pages (and I'm adding to it). It is a user document containing
a lot of numbered steps and graphics.
I only need one-way conversion, but the output must be a decent,
editable Word doc. The recipient wants to use this to create a smaller
document, and the parts to be used are probably too substantial to
suggest cut-and-paste from PDF.
I've tried Acrobat Professional v8 (it only captured some of the
headings, nothing else - useless!) and Save As RTF in Frame. Frame did a
good conversion with one exception: the converted graphics were blurry
and unreadable.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide -
Faith Weber
