Yaakov,

The company I work for, Industrial Medium Software, has a complete content management and digital production solution, "Expressroom." It's an enterprise-strength content management system that provides the foundation for building and managing your Web site and its content. It separates your site's code, content, and presentation. It's 100% Java and XML and is an open and extensible system that easily integrates with your existing people, processes, and infrastructure. It stores all your assets as XML in either a file-based or database repository as you choose.

It has a "Document Assistant" application with which, once it is set up, your folks continue to write in their third-party applications (such as Microsoft Word, PPT, Excel, and over 200 other programs), so they don't have to be technically savvy. They can drag-and-drop their document into Expressroom, where it is ready to go through the workflow process of approvals, or it is ready to publish, depending on your business processes. Document Assistant can also "round-trip" your documents and return the XML document back to your writers in its native format for further editing, if necessary. You might want to check it out on our Web site at www.industrialmedium.com. Or I'd be happy to answer further questions about it.
