That doesn't make sense to me either. If I'm 1099 I'm
not an employee, I'm self-employed and a vendor, and
it makes no difference whether I'm a self-employed
vendor to "ABC Computer Software, Inc." or a
self-employed vendor to "XYZ Consultants, Inc."
The codes only apply to someone working W2.
