Limitations are fair enough; software that doesn't work as advertised
is another matter. Of course, it's a rare piece of software that has
no bugs. That said, most software houses eradicate the bugs rather
than letting them persist for version after version in the way that
master docs and automatic paragraph numbering issues have plagued Word
FWIW, I make much of my living with Word and I've learned enough about
it to know it doesn't always do what it says on the tin. I've also
learned that frequent backups and prods of Ctrl+S are a good insurance
I repeat my opinion that anyone who believes Word to be without fault
either doesn't know the product, is naive, or both. That's not to say
Word is not usable - it is. It's just to say that you need to know
about the gotchas and take adequate steps to mitigate them.
