If you're having difficulty getting work without a certificate
(in your case, my guess is that the recruiter is asking about
a certificate because you don't have a four-year degree
and is hoping that hiring companies will accept it as an
equivalent), then it's worthwhile, especially if you can find
a program somewhere that will credit real-world work
experience toward the prerequisites for getting one. It
would certainly require less time and effort than going
back for a bachelor's.
