Well, I may have to take back what I said about how review meetings are
more successful than sending out printed copies. I called such a meeting
last Thursday, and no one showed up. We assumed that there were no
objections to the document, so we moved it into editing - and now we've
discovered there's a problem with it. Ooooh! I HATE when that happens!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That means it's a great time to stress the purpose and expectation of
the review meetings again to the group to squash any "someone else will
be there to catch it" attitudes. This is the exact thing the meetings
are trying to avoid.

It might also be a good time to figure out if the review group should be
expanded, and how to handle it if a particular group is not represented
at a meeting. In some places, we've gone so far as to schedule a new
meeting when a group decides to skip out - nothing like having to fit
another meeting on everyone's schedule to make that group look a little
silly for not attending in the first place - sometimes it's just a
matter of going around to gather mark-ups or get verbal approval from a
manager that everything should be good to go.
